Christmas Day

Charlie's 1st official Christmas had arrived and we were so excited to spend it with him.  This time last year, I was on hospital bed rest and spent the holidays in the hospital.  Christmas was much better this year and we are so blessed to have a happy, healthy, and growing boy.

We went in to wake up Charlie bright and early to head to the Rucker's for their yummy Christmas breakfast.  He was already awake and was ready to see what Santa had brought.....
We did our stocking gifts before we left in the morning and we were going to do the rest in the evening when we got home.

At the Rucker's house, the tradition is for all the kids to gather in the hallway and wait to go out to see what Santa had brought. This year, Charlie got to experience this for the first time. You can tell he is pretty excited to go out that door!

 The festivities are underway!

Uncle Adam gave Charlie some new books
 The Rucker's and Ganschow's
 Proud Pops!
Little Charlie got to spend some fun time with Noni!
 And Gigi!
We're proud to have our little guy with us.

Pops has always been a hit with kids. This silly head grabbing provided tons of entertainment for Charlie!

It's about time to head home for dinner. What a great Christmas day so far.

At our house, Charlie was excited to explore his new toys!
We had a great time playing, exchanging our gifts, and enjoying our Christmas night dinner. It was a very special year this year and we're so thankful for all of our family and friends, and all we have been so blessed to experience and enjoy.
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Christmas is here and we were so excited to share it with our sweet boy! We started Christmas Eve with a yummy breakfast tradition of french toast and sausage.  It was fun making breakfast for my boys....

After breakfast, Charlie helped me clean up!

We then headed over to Nana and Papa's house for Santa....
Smile!!
The boys enjoyed opening their presents...

Erin loved her Kindle Fire!
The boys both got Elmo guitars and loved them!!

Perfect set up for Christmas Eve
The boys both decided it was time to take a sippy cup break

It was then time to get ready for our Mexican fiesta dinner- Mrs. Claus did a great job!!
While we were busy cooking, Charlie wanted to help us in the kitchen.  Out of all the toys he just received, he thought that taking the towels out of the drawers was the most fun!

While were busy stuffing ourselves with Mexican food, Charlie enjoyed his dinner of chicken and sweet potatoes.

We then moved to the living room for more presents.  By this time, Charlie was getting the hang of unwrapping the presents- he was having lots of fun!
The boys loved their new trains- thanks Maw-Maw!

It was then time for Charlie to change into his third outfit of the day- his pj's.  Aren't they cute?!

Miles also changed into his pj's- we want Matt home for Christmas too!!

Family picture time....

We then headed home to put Charlie to bed.  We started our family Christmas tradition of reading The Night Before Christmas before putting Charlie to bed.  What a special ending to a wonderful day!

What a fun first Christmas Eve we had with Charlie!!
