Charlie's Magic Trick

Ever since Charlie graduated from his helmet, he has been fascinated with putting things on his head.  It doesn't matter what it is, it goes on his head! Lately, the challenge has been balancing his sippy cup on his head.  No, our son is not walking yet- but he can balance a sippy cup on his head! Pretty talented if you ask me! :)

Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from our future heart breaker.....

......and a flashback to his first Valentine's Day last year!

Our Valentine's Day started last Friday when Justin planned a surprise getaway trip to Austin.  We hopped on the 6:30 flight and made it there by dinner time to eat at our favorite restaurant.  We woke up the next morning to some yummy breakfast tacos and walked around a bit before heading back home.  We were there less than 24 hours, but it was a wonderful getaway!!! Thanks Nana and Papa for watching Charlie while we were gone.  

Charlie surprised us by making his first Valentine's Day card at his party at school.  

Oh my golly!!! Hopefully that will be the only time he is dressed like that for Valentine's Day! :)

I woke up on Valentine's Day to beautiful flowers from Justin.  Aren't they beautiful?! I'm a very lucky girl!!!! 

Then, I spent the day with 24 fun 2nd graders!!! Here they are with their Love Monsters Valentine bags they made.  Thank you Pinterest!!!

And here is their Valentine from me- I figured they get so many sweets that they would enjoy a glow stick! :) Thanks again to Pinterest!!

I came home and spent the evening with two of the best Valentine's! 

I've always been the biggest fan of this "Hallmark" holiday, but now with my very own family to celebrate with it takes it to a whole new level!! I love it!! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

Standing!!!

Charlie stood on his own yesterday for the first time!!! I caught him in action today and he was so proud of himself!! 

He also has been loving to ride all of his toys.  He just learned to sit on them and is obsessed with it! :) He wants to do it all the time!!

Way to go Charlie!!!! You will be walking in no time!!!

13 months!

Happy 13 months sweet boy.....

....and happy Super Bowl weekend!!! We needed to have the football in the picture to remember. :)

I decided that since he is a big ONE year old to move our monthly photos in front of the growth chart.  He is still working on standing, so we just had him sit in front of it.  I thought that would be easy- but it was tough.  He kept wanting to go and grab his truck (or anything) to play with.  Busy little boy!

 But, we were able to get a few good ones.  Here is one of him almost standing by himself.  We are still working on it!! Maybe once he reaches his due date he will want to stand by himself.  We are getting closer!!!

The month of January has been all about being sick or hurt! Boo--not a fun month for Mr. Charlie.  It all started a few days after his first birthday when he fell off his changing table and busted his lip.  Blood was everywhere! Ouch!

After that came his 3rd ear infection, which then turned into thrush because he had been on so many antibiotics!!! Yikes! Not fun at all!!! Good news though is that we went back to the doctor this week and he recommended no tubes right now.  Yay!!!

Then to end the month, he had an allergic reaction to a spider or ant bite- we still aren't sure which one.  His ear blew up like a balloon and was the scariest thing.  Here are a few pics of it.....

The doc recommended benadryl and it went back to normal within a few days.  Glad it worked- but it made for a scary few days!

Between all of the craziness of the month, we didn't get many pictures.  But, he is doing much better and his 14 month is already off to a great start! :)

We love school!

Charlie loves his school and is learning so much while he is there.  His teachers are wonderful and love Charlie.  They truly are great and we feel so blessed to have found someplace that we like so much! They send us a few pictures each week to show us what Charlie has been working on and we love it.  Here is what Charlie has been up to during the school day....
