Birthday Getaway

A few weeks ago, Justin planned a wonderful birthday surprise getaway! We went to Asheville, North Carolina for a weekend of relaxing, hiking, good music, and beautiful fall foliage. It was just what we needed and was so much fun! We flew into Greenville, South Carolina and drove to Asheville.    Look at the beautiful trees- so pretty!!

Once we made it to Asheville, we toured the city.  We then drove to Knoxville, Tennessee to catch the Brett Dennen concert. It was at this cute theater in downtown Knoxville....
....Blind Pilot opened for Brett and they were awesome.  Download some of their music.  They are our new favorite band!
Brett came on later and he put on a great show!!!

The next morning we ate breakfast in downtown Asheville at Tupelo Honey Cafe.  It was amazing and they had the best goat cheese grits.  I was hesitant to try them, but they were awesome!!! Downtown Asheville reminded us a lot of Austin- we loved it!!

We then hit the Blue Ridge Parkway for some beautiful scenery and hiking.

On our drive we came across The Orchard at Altapass.  It looked really cute and was very crowded, so we thought we would check out what it was all about.....
....this is what we saw when we got down there and entered.  It turns out it was a local orchard with fresh apples, fruits, jams, ice cream, honey.  There was a large crowd inside listening to a local Bluegrass band.  So fun!!!

After the orchard, we spent the rest of the afternoon hiking and taking in the beautiful views....

Bye beautiful Asheville.  We hope to bring Charlie back and visit next time!!!

While we were relaxing, Charlie was having fun with his Pops, Gigi, Uncle Adam, Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Chase.  Here are a few pictures we received while we were away.  Thanks so much for watching him while we were away!
