Life Lately

Life lately has been pretty sweet! We are all transitioning to me being home and loving every moment of summer.  Here is what we have been up to for June....

A few days before summer started we received the boys school pictures.  Oh my golly- my heart melted!!
The first weekend of summer Charlie fell out of his bed while sleeping (he's a wild sleeper) and busted open his chin.  He went to the ER and had 6 stitches.  Here is is with lots of medicine in him.  He was not this smiley the entire time- poor guy!
That night we celebrated our new chapter with our families! Thanks Justin for planning a great celebration!
Our first week of summer started with Luke's swimming lessons.  Charlie was supposed to go too but we post-poned until July because of his stitches.  He enjoyed watching Lukie swim!
He cried most of the first week, but week two he improved so much! I'm so proud of this little swimmer!
Charlie got his stitches out- we had to take him back to the ER because he wouldn't stay still for his pediatrician.  Yikes!
The nurses gave him a Popsicle for being brave- he instantly felt better!
That afternoon, Charlie performed in the Pre-K graduation.  The Preschool class performed and said goodbye to everyone heading to Kindergarten.  If you know Charlie, you know he doesn't like to get on stage.  There might have been lots of tears, but he went on stage and did great! What a day!
Lukie loved watching his big bro on stage!
We have spent many mornings at the park!

We also love riding our bike...
Lunch with Lukie....
We love eating at Chipotle after church!

We got our big boy summer haircuts....

Look at how much Charlie has changed.....he looks so much older!
We love swimming at Nana and Papa's with Miles and Kennedy

Charlie has started washing the dishes for me.  He loves it and I love it too! Such a big boy!

We had a date night with my parents to celebrate this next chapter.  Thank you mom and dad for a great meal- we had a great time and it was delicious! Also thank you to Gigi for watching the boys!
I love going grocery shopping with these two!
Charlie started Vacation Bible Camp at our church this year.  The last day they performed on stage and I was proud he went up there.

Lukie can't wait to go in a few years...
Charlie and I went to the Perot Museum after VBC when Lukie was at school.  It was fun to have some Charlie and Mommy time.

He loved the dino movie at the Perot....
We had many more park dates- I think this is Luke's favorite part of summer!

The boys went fishing for the first time and Charlie caught his first fish!

Lukie has started 'reading' to himself at night before bed.  We will get a book to read together and he says 'no, no, no, I read!' He grabs a book sits by his chair and 'reads' the story to us.  I love that both our boys have a love for books and reading.  I hope it always stays that way!
What a great start to summer! I know July will be just as sweet with these two!!

 We love you Papa!
We then headed down to the dock for some fishing.  The boys were so excited!
 Luke was excited too!
 Fishing with Daddy...

 Matt and his family fishing...
 Matt caught the first fish....

Then Charlie caught his first fish! Yay Charlie!
Luke loved fishing with Papa
The next day we headed to brunch to celebrate Daddy!
We headed to Gigi and Pop's Sunday afternoon to watch the US Open.  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures. We had a great weekend celebrating all the wonderful Dad's in our life.
