Week of the Young Child

Last week was 'Week of the Young Child' at the boys school.  The theme this year was Dr. Seuss and each day was filled with fun activities to go along with Dr. Seuss books.  The week ended with a fun parent/child picnic.

Each class had their artwork in the hallway displayed for parents to see....

Luke and his buddy Henry getting ready to eat! His class mainly just sat at their table and ate lunch- it was pretty calm for 2 year olds. :)
We then headed to Charlie's class on the playground.  He was dressed as 'Thing 5' for the day and was so proud!

The first thing he wanted to show me was his new trick of jumping and hanging onto this airplane thing
Charlie and his buddies from his class and the Pre-K room!
 Charlie and Merritt.....
 Sean, Charlie, and Alex
He loved sliding down the slide with his friends....

Charlie's teacher turned on the music and it turned into a 4 year old dance party!

 Bubbles!!! Pure joy!!

While all this was going on, Luke was happy just throwing the wood chips from the playground. :)
The picnic then started.  The boys ate the school food and the staff grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for the parents.  It was so nice!
It was then time for Luke's nap and Charlie walked him back to his class.  I just had to document them being sweet to each other. :)
What a fun afternoon at the boys school! I love days like this!!

Special Guests

Good Friday was one of our school make-up days from when it snowed in February and early March.  The boys didn't have school that day and Justin was off of work, so we thought it would be the perfect time to bring the boys up to my school to meet my class.  Charlie was been waiting all year long to meet Mommys 'big kids'.  He was really excited! My sweet 2nd graders were thrilled to meet Charlie and Luke as well.  I talk about the boys all the time, so they could not wait to meet them.  One girl in my class even brought Charlie a Dusty plane to welcome him because they know Charlie loves the Planes movie.  Sweet thing!!

When the boys arrived, my class was REALLY excited.  They all wanted to asked them questions and give them a tour of the classroom.  It was sweet, but a little overwhelming for the boys. We had circle time and each of my students shared their name.  It was cute!

It was almost time for my class to head to specials.  Charlie LOVES being the line leader in his class and wanted to lead my class to speicals.  Way to go Charlie!

After he led my class to specials, he wanted me to read a Dr. Seuss book to him.  Of course I will!
We then headed to Ms. Harris' room and he loved playing with her Promethean table. Charlie caught on really quickly too.
I loved having the boys in my class- especially knowing this is my last year teaching, it made it extra special.

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend this year.  On Saturday afternoon, we dyed the Easter eggs.  Charlie was a big help in getting everything ready!
Luke wanted to join in on the fun too! Sweet boy!
We then moved outside.....

The finished eggs.  The boys were proud!
The next morning, they woke up and came downstairs to their filled Easter baskets.
....and then did an egg hunt around the house.

Next, we headed to church and met Pops, Gigi, Aunt Chrissy, and baby Brooklyn there.  We missed you Uncle Adam and Uncle Chase!

After church service, we ate lunch at a wonderful BBQ restaurant close to our church.  It was our first time there and it was awesome! We will definitely be back!

We then went home changed and headed to Nana and Papa's.  They were so excited to open their Easter baskets from Nana and Papa.  They were filled with the best stuff.  Nana always does the best job with Easter baskets!

The Easter egg hunt then started....

I love these two together! Sweet cousins!
Thank you Nana and Papa for a great Easter egg hunt!
It was now time to eat....Kennedy was ready!
After we ate, the boys wrestled with Papa.....

...and we celebrated Kennedy's 2nd birthday! Happy birthday sweet girl!
Such a fun day filled with family, food, laughs, and lots of Easter treats!!
