Swim Lessons

Charlie started swimming lessons last week.  Thus far, he has not been a fan of the water and we were hoping swim lessons would help.  His lessons were every day M-Th for the past two weeks- a total of eight lessons.  There have been lots of tears, but he has learned so much thanks to his amazing teacher.  She did a great job! Yay Charlie!

First day of swim lessons- he's really proud of his new swimsuit! "Big whale!"
Day 2- doesn't love class so much, but loves the sucker his teacher gives him after the lesson! Way to go Charlie!
Day 3- lots of tears before this lesson- poor guy!! But, he swam really well and made lots of progress!
Day 4- we came straight from school and so we changed in the car.  No tears at all!!!! Whohoo!!
Practicing getting out of the pool
 Kick Charlie Kick!
He did so good we got a french fry treat after class.  Way to go Charlie!
Day 5- He pooped in the pool and all classes were canceled for the rest of the day.  Oh boy, Charlie!!!

Day 6- Did well and recovered from the day before! :)

Day 7- Yay Charlie! Swimming on his own!

Day 8- Our little swimmer!

Thank you to his wonderful teacher for teaching him how to swim- we will be back next year to learn more!

Family Staycation

Last weekend, we had our first family staycation! With our house on the market, we thought it would be much easier to get out of the house rather then cleaning it up for each showing and for the Open House.  If you have been around Charlie lately, you know he destroys a room as soon as he enters it.

Justin took the day off on Friday and our first stop was Klyde Warren Park.  I have been wanting to take Charlie here forever and we had a blast.  We waited in the long line for a grilled cheese and it was worth it.  So yummy!
Always an adventure eating with Charlie! :)
After lunch we headed to the toddler playground.  Charlie was in heaven and loved it!

 Daddy and Luke time!
Charlie was wiped out!!! Next stop- Grapevine!
We checked into our hotel and headed to downtown Grapevine to check out the trains- Charlie again was in heaven! Choo choo train!!
Luke just slept the entire time- can't wait to take him back when he is older!
And this is what he looked like leaving the trains! I think he enjoyed it!
Saturday morning we had breakfast at our hotel.....
 ....and then headed to Sealife!
After the Sealife adventure we had lunch at a cute pizzeria.  It was getting close to Charlie's nap time and as you can see from the look on his face he needed one! :)
We then headed back to the hotel for family nap time! :) Once we all woke up we headed to Bass Pro- we could tell why the grandparents enjoy taking him there.  Charlie loved it!!! He was talking about the deer and waterfall the entire time that we had to get a picture in front of it!
Then headed to Southlake Town Square for a yummy dinner.....
 ....and ice cream...
...and Charlie's favorite- the fountain! He easily entertained everyone for a good 30 minutes! Who knew a fountain would be so much fun!

He also insisted on touching EVERY ONE OF THESE!!!
Sunday morning it was raining and we hung out in the hotel and packed up.  Charlie enjoyed listening to Old McDonald about a million times. Each time he played it again Luke just smiled.  Pretty cute! :)
Sunday afternoon we hung out at White Rock and got a good tan and exercise!
What a fun family staycation we had!!
