First Surgery - Tubes and Adenoids

After many, many ear and sinus infections over the past few months, Charlie's docs decided it was time for him to have his adenoids removed and to get tubes.  He woke up the morning of the surgery in the best mood- he had no idea what was coming! Doesn't he look adorable in his new pj's?! Thank you Kandi!!!

Getting ready to head to the hospital.....

Once we arrive we filled out paperwork and Charlie was super friendly to everyone

Getting ready......

Overall the surgery took about 45 minutes- the longest 45 minutes ever!!!! He was a trooper though and did great!
Flashback 30ish years ago to when Justin got tubes.  Crazy how similar they look!!!

He was in so much pain at this point and just wanted to go home and  sleep- Justin felt bad for the poor guy...
 Heading home....
Once we got home he slept for 4 hours and bounced right back.  He ate well, walked around some, danced to Sesame Street, and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside.  Way to go Charlie- you are a trooper!!!

Spring Break.....aahhh!!!

Last week was my spring break from school and it was heavenly!!! Oh, how I love you spring break!!! We just stayed in town, but it was the best spring break ever!!! Here are my top 10 (or more!) favorites of spring break 2012:

1. Spending an entire week with my little man- no work, no distractions, just good quality time!

2. Heading down to the farm and celebrating grandma's birthday.  I wish I got a picture of us while we were there.  We had a fun time being together!!!

3. Many, many walks and park dates- the weather was perfect this week!!!

4. Enjoying lunch and spending the afternoon with Nana and Maw-Maw.  We had a fun day
together!!!

5. Taking him to his first dentist appointment.  He had a few tears, but did really good!! Currently he has 4 top and 4 bottom teeth, and 2 molars.

6.  Many, many trips to the grocery store and trying new recipes.  I LOVE to cook, but lately I've just been making the same 'ole boring things for dinner.  Charlie enjoyed his new foods and he loved our grocery store runs together.

Here he is enjoying his egg spinach omelet- I think he likes it!!!

My favorite dinner I made for Justin and I was pesto lasagna- it was wonderful and made us think we were back in Cinque Terra.  :) Yummy- thank you again Pinterest!!!!

7.  Working out whenever I wanted- it was wonderful!!!!

8.  Running errands together- he is a great shopping buddy! :)

9. Going to music class- each time we go Charlie loves it more and more.  He was smiling and giggling the entire time.  So much fun!!!!

10. Playdate with sweet Emmalyn.  They hadn't seen each other since NYE and it was fun to have them together again! They were obsessed with the doggy door- Charlie had never seen anything like this and he was loving it!

 Sweet friends.....

11. Celebrating his 2nd St. Patty's day! Check out the hat that he made at Kids Club at the gym the morning of St. Patty's day.  Isn't it cute?! He was pretty proud of it!!
And look how little he was this time last year! I was enjoying my last week of maternity leave with him and gearing up to head back to work.

12.  The highlight of the entire spring break was sweet Charlie taking his first steps.  He was waiting until I was off to show me he can walk!!!! Yay Charlie!!!!!

This spring break was wonderful and it makes me so excited to spend the entire summer with this little guy.  Only 10 more weeks!!!! :)

14 months!

Happy 14 months sweet Charlie!!!
Our little boy is turning into a toddler.  As sad as I am to admit it, he is starting to look like a little boy, no baby here.  Look at how much he has grown just since last month.  Sigh.....
Here's what we have been up to.....

This month has been another busy, busy month and it flew by.  The big milestone of the month was that he stood on his own.  Yay Charlie!!!

He is loving his school and his teachers are wonderful.  Here are a few pictures they sent our way.

We celebrated Nana's birthday......I hope I look this good when I'm her age!
Where's Charlie? I guess he was done taking pictures by this point :)
He even tried key lime pie at dinner while we were celebrating- not sure what he thought of it!!

He celebrated his 2nd Valentine's Day.....

He is an awesome sleeper and some days we find him like this with his blanket over his head :)

He turns anything and everything into a walker

He loves being outside and going on walks- it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold he would rather be outside than inside- we can't blame him!
He enjoyed hanging out in a box at Gigi and Pops!

He is an awesome eater and will eat anything you put in front of him- not picky at all and we love him even more for that!  Some of his current favorite foods are blueberries, salmon, asparagus, strawberries, hummus, meatballs, tofu, eggs, cheese- you name it he will eat it!
He also loves our weekly family dinner dates.

Happy 14th month sweet boy!!

An afternoon at the park

Today we took Charlie to our neighborhood park and oh did he (and we!)  have a blast! The weather has been beautiful, and we thought we would take advantage of such a pretty afternoon.  He loved swinging on the swings for the first time!

Once he was in the swing he giggled the entire time! It was pretty cute!

He also enjoyed driving the car...
....and playing on the playground!

We then moved to the slides and he loved these!

Looks like we will be spending many spring weekends here over the next few months.
