Week off with Daddy

What a week it’s been! First off, Congratulations to Mommy for making it through her first week back to school. The transition has been tough, but she’s doing great! With Mom off at work, Dad had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Charlie. Charlie was introduced to all sorts of new fun things and was an excellent companion. We got out to venture around the city and knocked off a huge chunk of the house project to-do list. The week ended with a trip up to visit Mom up at the school and a 5k race for the Make a Wish Foundation.  Charlie’s Grandmothers are so lucky to get to take over for us next week! Here are a few highlights from our week.

We started off with a little nap to get our energy up for the work ahead.

It was a tough finish for the Longhorns. Charlie couldn't even watch after the 5-second violation.

He decided the next morning he'd support Mommy's other school.

So far, so good!

Following Mom's schedule, it was time for some Tummy Time.

Hey Dad, how about another nap?

This boy can eat... wow! Not sure where he got that from?! :)

First of many trips to Target.

Getting stronger everyday!

Charlie goes to visit Mommy at school!

Time for some yard work. This is your future, little man!

We ended the week with a fun 5k race with Daddy's work friends.

Charlie, it was a wonderful week with you, buddy! Hope you have a great time next week with your Grandmothers!

Charlie Smiles!! :)

Over the last few weeks, Charlie has been smiling and grinning a lot more.  He is starting to recognize our voices more and is becoming more and more animated and alert.  We love it!! Here are a few of his smiles I've been able to catch on camera.

My absolute favorite part of the day is waking him up in the morning.  Here is how I'm greeted on most days.  Isn't he the sweetest baby ever?! We sure think so!!!

A trip to SWA

Charlie and I went up to Southwest Airlines on Tuesday to visit Justin's work family and had a blast!  Look how excited Charlie was! :) This was on our way in.....
We had many stops to make as many people wanted to meet the lil' guy.  Our first stop was his department.  Here he is with his team.....
Next stop up was to Justin's old department of Revenue Management.   We then headed to check out Dad's office.  Look how cute Charlie is sitting in his chair.....

Uncle Adam also works at SWA and stopped by to say hi to Charlie.....

We had such a fun afternoon and can't wait to visit again this summer!!

Charlie visits Charlie

Over the weekend, baby Charlie visited one of the Charlie's that he is named after.....

During the visit, Charlie thought it was a good time to make himself at home and have his nap time in the middle of the living room.  :) Look how cute he is....

Newborn Professional Pictures

When Charlie was just 7 days old he had his first photo shoot.  Erica May came to our house to photograph him.  She did an amazing job and we both were so impressed!  Charlie did a great job himself and was quite the model! :) Here are a few of our favorites.  Look how small he was.....he has really grown in just two months!

Guess who enrolled in school today?!

You guessed it......Mr. Charlie did!! It was a big day as we found out there was a spot available.  We started looking for day schools last fall as many already had long waiting lists or were even already full for the following fall.  I couldn't believe it and I was really starting to worry where he might end up! So, you could imagine how relieved I was when I received the email saying there was a spot open for him.  Yay!

Sundae Sunday #106: Babies Love Me!

Last Saturday, Justin and I had a CPR class to attend and we needed someone to watch Charlie for the day.     Adam, Christina, and Chase watched him in the afternoon and they even caught some of it on video.  Check out their babysitting adventure! :)

2 Month Milestones

Charlie had his 2 month check up last week, and he is growing quickly!!! Here are his stats:

Weight: 10lbs, 3oz
Height: 20 3/4
Dr. Hieber was extremely pleased with his weight gain and how he is growing.  He has almost doubled his birth weight .  Compared to other 2 month olds, he said Charlie was right on track.  This was such a relief for us to hear knowing he was born so early!! The best news of all was that he said we can drop the middle of the night feeding and to start letting him sleep through the night!!! Yay! We've been trying this over the past week, and last night was the first time he made it 6 hours straight! This will make for a very happy and rested baby, mom, and dad! :)

Some exciting 2 month milestones:

Charlie is no longer finger feeding - feeding him with a syringe
He has moved into size 1 diapers
He can wear newborn clothes now- we moved his preemie clothes to the back of his closet

Charlie is more alert and has more awake time.  He can entertain himself for a good 10-15 minutes in his bouncer or swing.

He is recognizing our voices more and pays a lot of attention to light.  He is even starting to grin!

Charlie sleeps and takes his naps swaddled in his 'big boy' crib- no longer in the bassinet next to our bed

He enjoys tummy time more now.  He has better neck control and is starting to hold his head up for longer periods of time.

He loves to kick whether it is on his playmat.....
or lately he has been a pro getting out of his swaddle and gets extremely fussy

He loves to go on walks with Ripley and I.  We try to go on at least one every day if the weather is good!

Charlie is starting to enjoy bath time and is more alert during our reading time too!

He loves hanging out with Dad any chance he gets

We love you Charlie and we can't wait to see what the next month brings!
