Swimming

Lukie had his first swimming lessons last week and he did so good.  It was a 2 week intensive course.  The first week he cried some, but by the second week he was comfortable and did awesome! ! Way to go Lukie!

Before heading to his first lessons.  He was so excited- I don't think he had a clue what was coming!
The first couple of days were 'Mommy and Me' and I was in the water with him.  Towards the end of the week, I was watching him swim.  Yay Lukie!
We ended the week by going to Krispy Kreme on 'National Donut Day' to celebrate.  He loved it!
He was all smiles starting week #2!
He loves swimming with the noodles....

When he was waiting his turn, he would always turn and wave to me and say "Hi Momma!" Cutest thing ever!
Floating on his back on his own!! Way to go Lukie!
Finishing his lesson- aren't they cute!
Once his lessons were over we had a cousin swim date at Nana and Papa's.  I love that these four are so close in age!!

 Popsicle time!!

Such a fun start to our summer!

Retirement Party

Justin planned a 'retirement party' with our families to celebrate this next chapter of our lives.  We went to our favorite mexican food restaurant and it was so fun celebrating with all of our families.

Thanks so much for everyone coming to help us celebrate the end of one chapter and the start of another.  Excited to start this next chapter of our lives with these three!

Forever Summer

My last week of teaching was pretty bittersweet! I knew all year this time was coming, so I had a while to prepare myself.  But, it was still hard saying goodbye to the teaching world that I have loved for 13 years.

Last week with my sweet 2nd graders.....
 Last field day.....
Saying goodbye to some sweet students and families....

I'm really going to miss my team that has been with me through 2 pregnancies, being a new mom, going back to work after babies, surgeries, 2 house moves, house renovations, travels, and lots more. Thank you ladies for everything!
I'm going to miss all my sweet teacher friends too....

As sad as it was leaving teaching, I'm so excited to be able to start this next chapter of being home with the boys!! I know not all moms have this opportunity and I feel so lucky and blessed that I do.   I can't wait to spend each day with them!! Bittersweet for sure!

Happy birthday Justin

Justin joined Club 35 over the weekend.  We started the birthday weekend off with a Rucker family dinner at one of his favorite BBQ places.  It was wonderful and a fun celebration!

Lukie and Daddy
Pops entertaining Charlie with his drawings- Charlie loved it!
Aunt Chrissy, baby Brooklyn, and Uncle Chase
 Gran Jan, Gigi, and Lukie
Charlie was so proud! When I asked him what he wanted to get Daddy for his birthday he said a new water bottle for his bike rides.  We went to Target and he picked this out all by himself. He was so excited to give it to Daddy!
He was also proud of the card he picked out too....he loved signing his name.  Such a big boy!

Singing happy birthday and blowing out the candles...happy birthday Daddy!

The next day the boys went to Nana and Papa's while we had a date night.  It was such a relaxing 24 hours and much needed! I don't have any pictures to share but THANK YOU Nana and Papa!! The boys had a blast!!

On Memorial Day, we went to Nana and Papa's to have Daddy's 2nd birthday party! Charlie was excited for celebration #2 and to see his cousin Miles!
Papa grilled ribs and chicken and Nana made some wonderful sides! It was yummy!
