Charlie's First Easter!

What a special and fun-filled Easter it was this year with sweet baby Charlie!! I've always been a huge fan of holidays, but now that we have our own little family I'm even more excited about holidays! The day started with a wonderful church service at Lakepoint Church in Rockwall with Justin's family.  The service and music was amazing and Charlie did great!! He LOVES music and is a great little people watcher.  He started grunting a little throughout the sermon, so I took him outside.  But other than that he did awesome! We were so proud of him!!!

After church we headed over to Christina's for lunch.  It was so yummy and we had a great time! Thanks Christina and Chase for hosting! Again, Charlie was a hit!

We even got our first family picture together.....

We then headed to my parent's house for an early dinner.  Again, Charlie was the guest of honor and everyone loved spending time with him.

It was a full day for Charlie and he was knocked out by the end of it....

What a wonderful Easter it was!!! We are looking forward to teaching Charlie what the true meaning of Easter is in the many years to come.

Working Mom

Three weeks down of this working mom thing, and I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it.  It is so much harder than I ever imagined being away from Charlie each day.  The first two weeks were definitely the hardest, filled with lots of tears (from me- not Charlie!), but the third week was a little easier.  It is still hard being away from him, but we are starting to get our routine down, and I deeply cherish our nights and weekends together.  He gets our full attention when we are together and each smile I get from him is such a blessing!!

We are so thankful to have both of our moms watch him while we are away at work.  It has made this transition so much easier and we are so blessed to have them watch him daily. I know Charlie enjoys this special time with his two Grandmothers as well.  They text us pictures throughout the day and it makes the day that much better. :) Here is what they have been up to....

3 months!!

Happy 3 month birthday to our sweet little guy! We can not believe that he is already 3 months.  Time is just flying by!  So much has happened this month, and this has by far been my favorite stage!  His little personality is really starting to show, and he is just the happiest and laid back baby (most of the time). He is smiling more too, and I just love it!! We took Charlie to Dr. Hieber to have a weight check, and we had the BEST news! He now weighs 12 pounds, 11 ounces and is in the 50th percentile!! This was such an answer to our prayers.  We have been feeding him so much in hopes that he would catch up in weight, and he has!!! The nurse said he was right on track developmentally for an average 3 month old.  Yay Charlie!!! We are so proud of you!!

Here is what has been going on this month.....

The highlight of the month is his smiles and how alert he is.....when he smiles at us, it just melts our hearts!

Our big boy has now moved on to 3 month clothes

He is getting really strong and has more control of his head each day.  He has been starting to try and roll over too!!

He LOVES bath time with Daddy!! He sits in his tub so happy and content! It is pretty cute! The only time he starts to cry is when bath time is over!!!

He is becoming an awesome sleeper and we love him even more for that! Most nights he will sleep for six hours straight and the last two nights he has been sleeping for 8 hours straight! Whohooo! We found the trick was to double swaddle him and then zip the wombie on top of that.  :)

We had our first family dinner at Gloria's.  He was so alert and loved looking at everyone! He loves being outside and on the patio just like his Mom! :)

He celebrated his first St. Patrick's Day and went to Kroger with Mom for the first time

He watched his first Longhorn basketball game and loved watching March Madness with Daddy!

We love you Charlie and have had so much fun this month with you!! We can not wait to see what the next month brings!!

Dallas Blooms

Mom, Maw-Maw, Charlie and I went to Dallas Blooms this afternoon at the Arboretum.  It was so much fun!!! The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful! I can't wait to take him back when he is older and can really enjoy it! :)

Charlie didn't let the beautiful scenery interfere with his nap time

Week off with Daddy

What a week it’s been! First off, Congratulations to Mommy for making it through her first week back to school. The transition has been tough, but she’s doing great! With Mom off at work, Dad had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Charlie. Charlie was introduced to all sorts of new fun things and was an excellent companion. We got out to venture around the city and knocked off a huge chunk of the house project to-do list. The week ended with a trip up to visit Mom up at the school and a 5k race for the Make a Wish Foundation.  Charlie’s Grandmothers are so lucky to get to take over for us next week! Here are a few highlights from our week.

We started off with a little nap to get our energy up for the work ahead.

It was a tough finish for the Longhorns. Charlie couldn't even watch after the 5-second violation.

He decided the next morning he'd support Mommy's other school.

So far, so good!

Following Mom's schedule, it was time for some Tummy Time.

Hey Dad, how about another nap?

This boy can eat... wow! Not sure where he got that from?! :)

First of many trips to Target.

Getting stronger everyday!

Charlie goes to visit Mommy at school!

Time for some yard work. This is your future, little man!

We ended the week with a fun 5k race with Daddy's work friends.

Charlie, it was a wonderful week with you, buddy! Hope you have a great time next week with your Grandmothers!
