Life Lately

Life lately has been so good!! July was such a great month and we had so much fun! It started by going to see Inside Out on July 4th weekend.  We were so excited to have Daddy home with us on Friday.

We celebrated July 4th....
Charlie enjoyed digging for worms!
 We had many park dates!
Our neighborhood has a preschool open gym.  The boys LOVED it!
We went to Houston to celebrate the life of Uncle David.  Before heading home the boys had a blast with Pops at the splash park.

We went to Klyde Warren Park with Matt, Miles and Kennedy

They had their 6 month check up at the dentist and did great!

They got these glasses from the dentist and have worn them all month long :)
Charlie had 2 weeks of swim lessons.  He did amazing and his confidence in the pool has really improved.  I'm so proud of him and Lukie loved watched big brother!

We swam at Nana and Papa's

....and Charlie jumped in the pool for the first time! Yay!!!
On the way home from swimming- always a good sign of a great afternoon. Within minutes they were out. :)
 We celebrated Gigi's birthday
Justin and I had date night to celebrate 12 years! Thanks Uncle Adam for watching the boys!!
Charlie loved painting his airplane.  Great gift Aunt Jane- thank you!!!!
We went to the Arboretum and had a blast!

Favorite part of the entire day was playing in the water- they could have stayed here all day!

Lukie got a haircut!
The month ended with a trip to California- more on that soon!!!

What a great month we had! Can't wait to see what August brings!

Red, White, and Blue

We had a fun 4th of July this year! It started at our neighborhood parade.

We then headed to our neighborhood carnival.  The boys saw the train and had to ride it!!

Lukie loved playing on the playground!
The local fire truck was there and the boys loved climbing on top of it.
Uncle Chase was also there- such a fun suprise to see him!
After the carnival, we headed to Nana and Papa's for a fun afternoon of mexican food, swimming and fishing.

Smoky Mountain Getaway

Justin and I headed to the Smoky Mountains a few weeks ago for a relaxing mountain getaway and it was wonderful!! We flew into Atlanta and then drove about 3ish hours to Bryson City, which is in the far west part of North Carolina.  We were ready to get there and relax!!!
We arrived into Atlanta around 2ish and we were starving for lunch.  Our favorite burger place we found in Dubai had just opened in Atlanta and we could not wait to have it again! We love Shake Shack! Great start to our trip!
After lunch we drove around three hours to Bryson City.  The drive was beautiful and looked that like this most of the way.....
Our cabin

Day one- we explored Downtown Bryson

 The train station

Nantahala Brewery
Dinner time!

Day 2 we woke up early and drove to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  It was about an hour and a half drive.  We were able to see some beautiful sites!

That afternoon, we went paddleboarding and had so much fun! This has been on my bucket list for a while and it felt good to cross it off!

The view driving back to our cabin- beautiful!!
Day 3 we hiked in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  There was a trail in Bryson City called Deep Creek and it was great!

After the hike, we stopped at a local deli in downtown.  WOW! After a long hike, this hit the spot.
That afternoon we went to the local spa for a hot stone massage.  It was amazing!!! Here we are after the massage feeling so relaxed!!!
That night Justin grilled steaks....
...while I finished my book with this view.

Bye beautiful North Carolina! What a perfect place to relax and recharge! Thank you to Nana, Papa, Gigi, and Pops for watching the boys while we were away.  They had a blast and we appreciate you watching them while we recharged!!
