We are THANKFUL

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  This was the first year in a while that we weren't hosting or I wasn't rushing around like a crazy mom!  It was so nice to sleep in (7:00 is my new sleep in time- I'll take it!), watch the parade with our little family, and just soak in the wonderful family time. Our morning started with our turkey waffle breakfast. Thank you again Pinterest!

Very thankful for these 3!
The parade started and the boys were glued to the TV.  The first balloons they saw were Thomas the Train and a football.  At the same time Charlie yelled Thomas, and Luke yelled foot-ball! It was the cutest thing.  If you have spent any time with them you know that these two things are their favorite things at the moment.  They loved watching the parade and we loved seeing how excited they were!
We then headed over to Nana and Papa's for Thanksgiving lunch.  We are very thankful for a wonderful Maw-Maw and Grandma!
Papa cutting the turkey- it was wonderful!!
After our delicious meal we were stuffed! Everything was delicious!! We headed outside to play- we were so thankful for the beautiful weather!

Luke thought this was better as a race car ramp!
We had such a good Thanksgiving.  Thank you Nana and Papa for hosting a wonderful day! Very thankful for our little family and for wonderful grandparents and great-grandparents to help raise Charlie and Luke!
The next morning, we woke the boys up and headed to Krispy Kreme for some post Thanksgiving donuts.  The boys were excited!!
Luke's first donut- he ate 2 and could have had more if he had it his way! Oh my goodness!!

There was a balloon maker inside and they made the boys balloons.  They loved it!

 Dad and Charlie
 Mom and Lukie
Watching the donuts being made- Charlie loved this!! Luke wanted to find more balloons and donuts.  Ha!
We had such a calm and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday this year.  Very thankful for times like these and to be able to spend so much time with our family.

35 in Santa Fe

A few weeks ago, Justin planned a wonderful 35th birthday getaway trip to Santa Fe.  We left Friday afternoon, hopped on an SWA flight to ABQ, and then drove an hour to Santa Fe.  We were excited to get away!
Once we were there we checked into our hotel and went to the Plaza area.  We put our name on the list to eat at The Shed and it was an hour and a half wait.  Yikes! It ended up being perfect though because it gave us time to check out the area.  There were so many beautiful churches and lots of cute little shops.
Loretto Chapel

Love the fall foliage!
This was my favorite shop! You walk in and it smells like Christmas with Christmas music playing.  Each place we travel I pick up an ornament and this place had a million to choose from.  I loved it!
Our table was ready and we headed to The Shed.  It was the best meal we had in Santa Fe.  Yummy!
The next morning we headed out for a hike.  First, we grabbed Starbucks from our hotel.  Yes, it has taken me 35 years to finally understand why everyone loves Starbucks so much.  I'm a new fan!
We then headed back into town to grab breakfast.....
We put our name on the list at and explored the Plaza more.  Each morning artisans come here to sell their jewelry.  Everything was beautiful and they were so friendly.

Our table was ready at Cafe Pasqual and we were ready to eat.  This place was our favorite breakfast spot.  Everything was fresh and organic.  They even had their own cookbook that I was very tempted to purchase.  Such a yummy breakfast!

We were stuffed and ready to go hike! We drove an hour and made it to Tent Rocks.

These rocks were formed from volcano explosions over the past million years and then these cone-shaped rock formations were formed.  Pretty incredible!

We made it to the top!

What a hike!
We then drove to another lookout point

After the hike, we headed back to Santa Fe and went olive oil tasting.  It was so much fun and yummy! Who knew they had all these yummy flavors?!
The next morning we headed out again for another hike......

When the hike started it was sunny and in the 50's.  Perfect hiking weather!
The higher we climbed the clouds would get darker and darker and it was getting very cold.  Then, it started raining and sleeting on us.  Oh my golly, it was freezing! We ran down!

Once we made it to the bottom, it was nice and sunny again! Crazy weather!
A deer we saw on our way to the next hike
Our next stop was another beautiful hike- it rained on us again too.

After our hike, we changed in the car and headed for the famous 'Canyon Road'.  It is a few streets filled with art galleries. We could not afford a thing there, but it was fun to walk around and check everything out.

Next, we headed to the Bell Tower Bar to check out the beautiful sunset.  It was the perfect ending to a great trip.

Bye beautiful Santa Fe.  Thank you to Justin for planning such a wonderful birthday trip- it was the perfect place to relax and recharge.  Thank you also to Nana and Papa for watching the boys while we were away!!!
